Moyes eyes 26-year-old Bundesliga ace as Declan Rice replacement

David Moyes is reportedly considering a move to sign Djibril Sow, a midfielder from Eintracht Frankfurt, as a replacement for Declan Rice, informs the HammerNews.

The Sun reported that securing a high-quality substitute would be crucial in ensuring a smooth transition for West Ham. According to The Sun, West Ham’s head of recruitment Rob Newman has been monitoring Djibril Sow this season, most recently during Eintracht Frankfurt’s match against Borussia Dortmund last weekend.

The 26-year-old midfielder has just over a year left on his contract with the German club and could reportedly be available for around £20 million this summer. While he would be a great addition to West Ham, he should not be seen as a direct replacement for Declan Rice.

If David Moyes brings Sow to the London Stadium alongside another central midfielder like Ibrahim Sangare or Khéphren Thuram, it would be a fantastic move.

According to Who Scored, Sow has scored four goals and averaged 1.4 tackles, one interception, and one clearance per game in his 28 appearances in the Bundesliga this season. He is a versatile player and a typical central midfielder, who appears to be well-suited to the physically demanding and fast-paced style of play in the Premier League.
