Mykolenko claims that Everton’s player is ‘top 2’ in the entire league

Everton secured Premier League survival despite an eight-point deduction, and now attention turns to the summer transfer window. One player likely to attract significant interest is young defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

Manchester United have already been linked with a move for Branthwaite, and Everton left-back Vitaliy Mykolenko has heaped praise on his teammate.

“If you put our Branthwaite and [Bournemouth’s] Zabarnyi in a pair, they can be signed for 15 years without transfers to the club,” Mykolenko told Tribuna. “One is left central, the second is right – there is speed, there is everything. Either one or the other is very calm. I’m delighted with our central defender. He has already scored 3 this season. These are the top two for me.”

Branthwaite’s impressive season has reportedly caught the eye of Manchester United, who are said to be preparing a £55 million bid for the England international, according to the Daily Mail.

Everton’s financial situation might force them to consider a sale, especially if United’s offer includes cash plus a player, something that could hold more appeal for the Merseysiders.

Branthwaite appears to be a hot commodity this summer, and with Mykolenko’s endorsement adding weight to his value, Everton could be facing a transfer battle for their prized defender.
