Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, the midfielder for Tottenham Hotspur, has chosen to keep his plans under wraps amidst rumors connecting him to a potential return to Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga champions, writes the football.london.
Hojbjerg has spent the previous three seasons at Tottenham after his transfer from Southampton, a fellow Premier League competitor. With over 140 appearances for Spurs, he has contributed 10 goals and 16 assists during his tenure.
German reports have surfaced, suggesting that Bayern Munich is contemplating a summer move to bring Hojbjerg back to the Allianz Arena. Prior to his move to England, the 27-year-old made 25 appearances for the German club, mostly representing their B team.
According to German outlet BILD, Thomas Tuchel has expressed interest in the Tottenham star, as the player’s agent has supposedly offered his services to several clubs. The potential signing of Hojbjerg has reportedly been deliberated within the Munich hierarchy.
Despite the ongoing speculation surrounding his future, Hojbjerg has chosen to distance himself from transfer discussions while focusing on his international duties with Denmark. During an interview on Sunday, the midfielder declined to comment on the reports linking him with a return to Munich.
“What’s lucky is that we plan an international match tomorrow (Monday),” he said. “So my focus is there. What comes next is fortunately not in my hands.
“What I can focus on is what needs to be done tomorrow. I have spoken about before about my time in Munich, but right now I have nothing to say about it.”
