‘On a serious note’ – Sean Dyche gives new Dominic Calvert-Lewin injury update

There is progress in Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s recovery from injury, and he may soon return to the Everton squad, reports the LiverpoolWorld.

The striker has been absent for nine consecutive games, including their recent 2-0 defeat to Manchester United. Calvert-Lewin has only played one match under the management of Sean Dyche, and has made just 12 appearances throughout the season due to his injury struggles.

Once again, Everton’s inability to score goals was evident in their loss to United, despite Calvert-Lewin being fit enough to train. When questioned about the striker’s chances of playing in the match, Dyche responded with a quip, saying he was only 33 miles away, referring to the distance between the training ground and Old Trafford, but added that Calvert-Lewin is indeed making progress.

Dyche said: “Thirty-three miles, something like that – I don’t know what the distance is from here to the training ground. On a serious note he is making progress.”
