Everton’s pursuit of Leeds United attacker Wilfred Gnonto has received a boost as the player’s agent expresses his desire for a move to the Premier League, relays the GrandOldTeam.
According to reports in Gazzetta dello Sport, Everton has taken concrete steps to secure Gnonto’s signature in the upcoming transfer window. Despite not having made any signings yet, Everton has been linked with several Leeds United players following the club’s relegation to the Championship.
In addition to Gnonto, it is reported that manager Sean Dyche is interested in acquiring attacker Crysencio Summerville and midfielder Tyler Adams as part of the ongoing exodus from Elland Road. The outcome of Everton’s pursuit of these transfer targets remains uncertain. However, Gnonto’s agent Claudio Vigorelli has confirmed that the player would prefer a return to top-flight football this summer.
Speaking to Calciomercato before Italy U-21’s match against Norway, Vigorelli stated, “We are currently focused on the national team and the European Championship.”
“Then we have to talk to Leeds, and we’ll see, but I think there will be options. The Premier League experience has been fantastic for him, and I think he wants to continue in that direction.
Then, in football, everything can be, but right now the focus is on the national team.”
