‘Players are getting over it’ – Moyes confirms multiple West Ham boosts ahead of Man United

West Ham United is expected to have Declan Rice, Tomas Soucek, and Nayef Aguerd back for their upcoming match against Manchester United on Sunday, writes the Evening Standard.

These key players missed the Hammers’ recent 3-0 loss to Manchester City due to a sickness bug that affected the team. While they traveled to Manchester for the match, they were sent home hours before the kick-off. Despite a few other players now also being ill, manager David Moyes remains optimistic that Rice and Soucek will be able to continue their midfield partnership, along with the important presence of centre-half Aguerd for the game against Manchester United.

Kurt Zouma remains sidelined due to an ankle injury, while Vladimir Coufal also suffered a hamstring injury during the Manchester City game and will not be available for the upcoming match against Manchester United. David Moyes, who recently turned 60, has the added challenge of managing the relegation battle in the Premier League along with the Europa Conference League semi-final against AZ Alkmaar. The first leg of the semi-final will take place next Thursday.

“But we had one other player who was sent home this morning and another who said he didn’t feel so good.

“We’ve just got to hope we can contain it. It looks like it’s more like sickness and players are getting over it quite quickly.”
