Everton manager Sean Dyche may be losing control in the dressing room, according to journalist Dan Bardell, who highlighted a recent incident involving midfielder Idrissa Gueye. Bardell believes this reflects a growing lack of respect for Dyche among the players, particularly during critical moments in matches.
The Toffees have struggled in recent weeks, with their latest setback being a Premier League draw against Leicester City, marking the fourth consecutive game where they failed to secure a win. Dyche’s second-half tactics have been under scrutiny, and Bardell points to Gueye’s behavior as a troubling sign.
Speaking to Goodison News, Bardell said, “What alarmed me at Everton when I’ve watched them is Dyche and the players’ body language. Against Aston Villa, Dyche was going mad on the sidelines at times. There was a moment where he really lost his cool with Idrissa Gueye, but it didn’t feel like there was any authority there.”
Bardell further elaborated on Gueye’s reaction: “It was almost like he didn’t care—he was shrugging his shoulders and brushing off what Dyche was saying to him. It’s that mentality which is a huge problem. When the chips are down, they just go into themselves and don’t expect to win.”
