Spurs have experienced disappointment this weekend as they failed to land Antonio Conte.
However, according to The Telegraph, they’re about to pull off a “coup” elsewhere.
The outlet claims that Tottenham are closing in on Fabio Paratici, despite losing out on Conte.
The Juventus director of football has left the Serie A club 11 years upon the expiry of his contract.
Tottenham reportedly had an interest in the 48-year-old back in 2018, according to Calciomercato.
Paratici is close to Conte – Corriere Della Sera reported last month that the pair have remained in contact over recent years.
But despite Spurs’ failure to land Conte, The Telegraph says this will not impact on Paratici’s anticipated arrival.
The outlet understands that Paratici has verbally agreed to join the Premier League club irrespective of Conte’s future.
He is expected to hold a similar position role he held at Juventus, where he was involved in player transfers.
Paratici will reportedly be part of the existing team behind the scenes, rather than replacing the current structure at Spurs.
Steve Hitchen is currently Tottenham’s technical performance director and Rebecca Caplehorn is director of football operations.
“Paratici will be seen as a coup for Spurs after more than a decade at Juventus, where they won nine titles in a row and got value in the transfer market particularly from free agents,” added The Telegraph.
