Sean Dyche sends blunt Everton improvement message after huge Brentford win

Following Everton’s crucial win over Brentford, Sean Dyche identified an area of improvement for his team, writes the LiverpoolEcho.

Although he was satisfied with some aspects of the Toffees’ performance, he acknowledged that it was unlikely for his side to dominate the entire 90 minutes. Despite this, Dyche remained focused on the need for continued progress after the game.

Everton had a dominant start, scoring through Dwight McNeil within 35 seconds, and creating several other opportunities. However, they found themselves under pressure in the second half. Dyche stated that addressing the issues that prevented them from controlling the second half was crucial to their plans.

Overall, Dyche expressed his satisfaction with Everton’s latest win, which has helped them move out of the bottom three and gain momentum in the lower half of the table. Earlier in the week, he had stated that 1-0 was a manager’s preferred scoreline. When asked about his thoughts on the result against Brentford, Dyche said:

“Today’s win is satisfying for different reasons. In the first half, we played well and created several chances. We’ve been working on being effective, and I thought we were. However, in the second half, Brentford deserves credit for their performance. They are a good team, and they came back into the game.”

Everton manager acknowledges the need for improvement in his team’s play, stating that the match became nervy due to turnovers and missed opportunities. However, he emphasized that it’s challenging to dominate the game for the entire 90 minutes and that teams should expect to have spells of weakness. He praised his team’s resilience and shape, which is developing with time, and emphasized the importance of hard work and fine goalkeeping in securing a 1-0 victory.
