Viktor Gyökeres, the Coventry City star, has brushed off any speculations regarding his potential transfer to Leeds United or West Ham, informs the SW.
Gyökeres has been having a remarkable season, with 18 goals and eight assists in 38 games in the Championship. He has been able to maintain his impressive form from last season, where he scored 18 goals and provided five assists in 47 games across all competitions.
The forward granted an interview after scoring a goal and assisting in Sweden’s 5-0 triumph over Azerbaijan (via Fotboll Skanalen). Despite being linked with a move away from the club in the past transfer windows, Viktor Gyökeres remains a target for several clubs including Leeds, West Ham, and Burnley, as per Fotboll Skanalen. Leeds and West Ham have been struggling with their goalscoring this season, while Burnley would want to bolster their squad should they secure promotion to the Premier League.
However, the 24-year-old Coventry City star is not paying attention to the transfer rumors and is solely focused on his football. Gyökeres has been impressive this season, contributing 18 goals and 8 assists in 38 Championship games, which adds to his excellent performance for Coventry last season where he scored 18 goals and provided 5 assists in 47 games in all competitions.
He said: “These are just rumours. We’ll see what happens in the summer. I try not to get any info about it right now. I want to focus on the matches. So, you have to take it then. There is no transfer window now. So, it feels a little unnecessary to put energy on it now.”
