Spurs star midfielder might be sold as a result of tactical concerns raised by Ange Postecoglou

According to a recent report from The Sun, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s future at Tottenham Hotspur is uncertain following the appointment of new manager Ange Postecoglou, relays the COS.

The report suggests that the Denmark international could be sold this summer because his playing style as a defensive midfielder may not align with Postecoglou’s desire for free-flowing attacking football. Hojbjerg has been a regular under previous managers like Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, but it appears that his role may change under Postecoglou, who is expected to adopt a playing style similar to that of Mauricio Pochettino’s era.

If this happens, Hojbjerg is likely to be one of the first players to be marginalized, which could lead to his sale during the summer transfer window. Despite having two years remaining on his contract, the midfielder’s potential departure could be prompted by these circumstances. Since joining Tottenham from Southampton in 2020, Hojbjerg has made 145 appearances across all competitions, contributing directly to 26 goals during that time.
