Swansea boss sets Joe Rodon transfer stance
Swansea boss Steve Cooper says Tottenham Hotspur will not get centre-back Joe Rodon on the cheap ahead of tomorrow’s deadline for the domestic transfer window.
With just over 24 hours before the window closes, football.london understands that Spurs and Swansea remain far apart on their valuations of the young Wales international, who is is believed to be keen on a move to north London.
The Championship side reportedly want around £20million for the 22-year-old central defender, just £8million less than Tottenham paid Real Madrid for Spain international and Europa League winner Sergio Reguilon.
While Rodon is considered to be a talent, his lack of experience at the top level means Spurs will not pay over the odds for a player who would likely be one for the future in Jose Mourinho’s squad.
football.london understands that currently Spurs are not looking at any other potential targets and it’s a case of Rodon or nothing in this bonus domestic window.
Cooper made it clear that the young centre-back would not be making any move if it does not make financial sense for Swansea.
