TalkSPORT: Potter rejects Leicester approach after sacking as he waits for West Ham offer

Reports suggest that Leicester City made an attempt to hire Graham Potter as their new manager shortly after he was sacked by Chelsea, but he has turned down the offer, informs the F365.

Chelsea parted ways with Potter following their 2-0 loss to Aston Villa, leaving them with only four wins in their last 19 Premier League matches and placed 11th on the table. According to various sources, Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, the Chelsea recruitment duo, made the decision to dismiss Potter with the unanimous support of co-owner Behdad Eghbali and Todd Boehly.

Although Potter has been linked with other managerial positions, talkSPORT reports that he has rejected Leicester’s approach. Instead, he is reportedly taking a break from the sport, despite Leicester’s long-standing interest in him and their efforts to entice him to the King Power.

Leicester City have the worst record among all Premier League clubs since the league resumed after the World Cup, leading to the sacking of Brendan Rodgers. The Daily Telegraph reports that Leicester could consider Potter as a potential candidate for the job again in the summer if they have not appointed a permanent coach before then, and Crystal Palace will also be looking to appoint a new manager at the end of the season. Other clubs like West Ham, Tottenham, and Crystal Palace are also in the market for new managers, and Potter is expected to be a candidate for the West Ham position if David Moyes departs in the summer.

The Daily Telegraph write: ‘Chelsea still rate Potter very highly and believe he will go on to prove himself a top coach, and the former Brighton man is unlikely to be short of offers over the coming months.

‘West Ham United will consider the future of David Moyes in the summer, whether or not the club remains in the Premier League, and Potter would certainly be a candidate the London club would consider to succeed the Scotsman.’
