‘That’s their big worry’ – Journalist Dean Jones drops worrying claim on major decision at West Ham

According to journalist Dean Jones, West Ham United are concerned that David Moyes may be the best manager available to them. The 59-year-old manager is currently experiencing a rough period at the London Stadium, but his accomplishments with West Ham are undeniable, writes the GMS.

The Guardian recently reported that Moyes was on the verge of being dismissed earlier this year, but the club has struggled to identify a suitable replacement for the Scottish manager. If the team’s results do not improve significantly, they risk being relegated to the Championship. At the same time, West Ham won their Europa Conference League game against AEK Larnaca on Thursday, which means they have reached a significant European quarter-final for the second consecutive season, highlighting the positive aspects of Moyes’ management.

Although advancing to the final rounds of a European competition is a significant accomplishment, the Hammers board will undoubtedly place a higher priority on maintaining their Premier League status. According to Transfermarkt, Moyes’ points-per-match average during his first stint with West Ham was 1.19, which he has significantly surpassed in his current tenure as the former Everton manager.

Dean Jones has claimed that West Ham is apprehensive about whether a new manager could do a better job than Moyes. He explained to GIVEMESPORT that while this season unfolds, the club is trying to assess which potential candidates would be interested in the job. Their primary concern is determining if they can identify a manager who is undoubtedly an improvement over Moyes. Their greatest fear is that Moyes is indeed the best manager available to them right now.

“There are loads of managers out there, but who’s going to actually want this job? I think that’s what West Ham are trying to gauge in the background while this season plays out.

“Can they actually find a manager that is a guarantee to be an improvement on Moyes? That’s their big worry. Their big worry is that Moyes is actually the best manager they can get.”
