According to ExWHUemployee, West Ham United is preparing to formally approach midfield prospects Joao Palhinha, Edson Alvarez, and Denis Zakaria as they intensify their search for a replacement for Declan Rice, writes the WHZ.
With Declan Rice’s departure imminent and Arsenal on the verge of finalizing the transfer, West Ham has identified several candidates to fill the void. Among Moyes’ top targets are Alvarez, Palhinha from Fulham, James Ward-Prowse from Southampton, and Zakaria from Chelsea.
As the move by Arsenal nears completion and an official announcement is expected soon, West Ham is now ready to solidify their interest in a potential replacement and have offers at the ready.
On The West Ham Way podcast, Ex mentioned: “Another position we will look to fill is a defensive midfielder replacement for Rice.
“The leading candidates are expected to be: Edson Alvarez, Joao Palhinha and Denis Zakaria. All will be subjected to offers and preliminary negotiations.”
Bringing in two midfielders is an absolute necessity for West Ham United, considering the immense challenge of replacing Rice’s exceptional quality, character, and leadership in the dressing room. The acquisition of either Palhinha or Alvarez, who are both outstanding defensive midfielders, along with the versatile box-to-box presence of Zakaria, would be a strong and strategic move by the club this summer.
