‘The most Important thing’ – Tuchel shares on what he’s desperate to see from a 45mil Chelsea star

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has explained he’s desperate for Timo Werner to find some rhythm, confidence and joy in his own game, writes the Chelsea Chronicle.

Werner, 25, is a hot topic around Stamford Bridge that is heavily discussed by Blues supporters.

Despite 12 goals and 15 assists in his debut Chelsea season last year, he finds himself out of the preferred XI at the start of the new campaign.

It feels like Tuchel is still working out his best line up, especially as he’s got a squad stacked with so much quality depth. However, Werner played just a minute in the two Premier League games before the international break.

For the Germany international, he’s now back in London after scoring in each of his nation’s three World Cup qualifiers during the last fortnight.

Tuchel has laid out during his Friday press conference what he wants to see from the £45million attacker, which sounds like him to express himself and enjoy himself on the pitch.

“The most important thing is he finds his rhythm, finds his confidence, finds his joy,” Tuchel said about Werner.

“We are very happy that he played (for Germany) and from here we go… Timo is a guy we count on and it is absolutely necessary that we have someone on a high level and he can be decisive for us.”
