Speaking to Sky Sports (h/t Daily Star), Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has addressed his future at the club following the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti as the new manager, informs ToTheLaneAndBack.
Bale spent the 2020/21 campaign out on loan at Tottenham Hotspur where he did fairly well, finishing with 16 goals. Back at Real Madrid, though, the Welshman’s future remains uncertain even though he still has a year left on his contract.
However, with Zinedine Zidane, who had exiled Bale, not at the post anymore and Ancelotti, who worked with Bale at the club in the past, back at the helm, there have been speculations that the winger could get a shot at resurrecting his career in Spain.
At the same time, there have been reports that Bale could be on his way back to the Premier League on a permanent basis. Tottenham, in the recent past, have been linked with another move for the Welsh wing-wizard.
Bale recently reacted to Ancelotti’s re-appointment at Real madrid. Although, he refused to give away much on where his future lies, insisting that he is currently focusing on the Euros. (h/t Daily Star)
“He’s returned to Real Madrid and he’s a great manager, a great guy,” Bale told Sky Sports when asked how Ancelotti’s appointment will impact his future. We had a great time together at Real Madrid and he’s an amazing person to have in charge of Real Madrid, I’m sure he’s going to be amazing.
“But I’m still in the same boat. I haven’t thought about it too much, I’m concentrating on what’s happening now, our preparation, what’s going to happen in the Euros and I’ll sort the rest out after.”
Amidst all this, there have even been bizarre rumours that Bale will be retiring from the game altogether after the Euros. It remains to be seen as to what the Welshman has planned for the next phase of his career.
