‘Totally different’ – Lukaku explains how he has been preparing for Chelsea debut

The marquee fixture of the upcoming Premier League game-week will take place on Sunday afternoon, informs the 101goals.

The match in question will see Arsenal play host to capital rivals, Chelsea.

The two outfits would endure contrasting starts to their 2021/22 seasons.

Chelsea have already clinched one trophy this year, beating Villarreal for the UEFA Super Cup.

The Blues then opened their domestic campaign in style, putting Crystal Palace to the sword by three goals to nil.

Marcos Alonso, Christian Pulisic and Trevoh Chalobah were all on target vs the Eagles.

Arsenal, on the other hand, fell to a disappointing 2-0 defeat vs newly promoted Brentford on Friday evening.

Ahead of Sunday’s game, Thomas Tuchel stated that it looked likely that Romelu Lukaku would be on the pitch vs Arsenal:

“We have one more training session to go but the week was a heavy load. He was with the group with the late starters, so it was an overload week so far. Today was low intensity and tomorrow we will have an important session before the match. We hope he will be on the pitch on Sunday and it looks likely.”

Lukaku would set the Blues back a club-record £97.5m and is no doubt desperate to hit the ground running on his return to the Premier League.

The Belgian has previously netted 113 goals for Manchester United, Everton and West Brom, but not a single goal for his first PL club, Chelsea.

Now though, he has become one of Europe’s top strikers and has revealed how he has been preparing for his second Chelsea debut.

And according to Lukaku, he has watched the last seven or eight Chelsea games to try and know what the movements of the team are and what Thomas Tuchel is expecting from them in every game:

“Tactically, I see the game totally different.

“I’m really interested in the movements some players make. So for the last week, I’ve been watching the last seven or eight games of the team and try to know what the movements and what the coach is trying to expect from us in every game, so when I come in, I can just move.”
