Tottenham legend Ledley King names his two most underrated former teammates

Tottenham Hotspur legend Ledley King, who spent his entire playing career at the club, recently looked back on his career and named two unexpected players as the most underrated he ever played with at Spurs, relays the SpursWeb.

King, a commanding center-half, made an impressive 322 appearances for Tottenham, scoring 13 goals and providing eight assists from the heart of defense. He was known for his leadership qualities and captained the team during their successful period. In fact, King was the last Tottenham captain to lift a trophy for the club when they won the League Cup in 2008.

Throughout his time at Tottenham, King had the privilege of playing alongside exceptional talents such as Luka Modric, Dimitar Berbatov, and Jermain Defoe. However, in an interview with GiveMeSport, King identified two players whom he believes were greatly underrated during his tenure: Didier Zokora and Teemu Tainio.

He said: “I always liked Didier Zokora in the midfield. I thought he was a little bit underrated. Another one was Teemu Tainio, another midfield player.

“They were very important players in the team, but they didn’t always get the plaudits they deserved. As a defender, they were my favourite guys because they did the dirty work in front of me and made my job easier.

“Both of them were underrated and better than people probably thought they were.”
