Tottenham player ratings from that incredible 6-1 win over Man United

Tottenham Hotspur may have conceded a penalty inside the first minute at Old Trafford, but they turned things around in style to secure a remarkable 6-1 away victory.

The team performance was outstanding, but how did the individual players get on?

Hugo Lloris – 6 – A couple of routine stops, can’t blame him for the penalty, and there isn’t a lot else to say about the Frenchman.

Serge Aurier – 9 – He was strong in the tackle, tracked back loads, and looked a menace going forward. A deserved goal for the Ivorian and Matt Doherty has competition!

Davinson Sanchez – 5 – He looked good across the 90 minutes but I have to mark him down for that penalty. In most games away to the top six, that costs you three points.

Eric Dier – 7.5 – Wasn’t tested a whole lot but stood up to the challenges he was given at Olf Trafford.

Sergio Reguilon – 8 – A constant source of energy on the left-hand side, even if most of Tottenham’s best stuff came central or to the right. Never stopped working for the team.

Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg – 10 – Such an underrated performance from Hojbjerg. He broke up play, he ordered players around, he got in the ref’s ear, and he played some beautiful passes. That assist for Aurier was particularly impressive.

Moussa Sissoko – 7 – Was essentially there to cover the space left by the attacking Aurier and did it very well. A quiet but professional performance.

Tanguy Ndombele – 8.5 – Looks to be getting better by the game. He still tires around the hour mark, but Tanguy got Spurs back in the game just when they needed him today. Full of tricks, flicks, and creative flair in the pockets.

Erik Lamela – 8 – Showing the dark side that Jose wants to see. It wasn’t a red card for me, but Lamela did far more than just get Martial sent off. His control and creativity today was class.

Heung-min Son – 9 – Would have been a ten if he had scored the extra one-on-one against De Gea in the first-half, such are the standards we not set for Sonny. Two goals and an assist for an incredible player!

Harry Kane – 10 – Played 90 minutes and controlled the game from all over, especially when he dropped into the number 10 role and created space/chances for others. The most complete striker on the planet.

Substitutes:

Lucas Moura – 6.5 – Worked so hard after coming on and the United defenders couldn’t get near his quick feet.

Dele Alli – 6.5 – Same as Moura, he worked hard and looked professional.

Ben Davies – 7 – What a run to win the penalty for Spurs late on!
