Tottenham unlikely to sign £60m-rated player Postecoglou wants

Following their decision to step back from pursuing Marc Guehi in the summer transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur is now exploring alternative targets, writes the TBR.

Guehi, who enjoyed an impressive season with Crystal Palace, has attracted interest from Spurs and other clubs. Despite being a rising talent and earning a call-up to the England squad, it appears that Guehi’s future won’t be with Tottenham at the moment.

According to reports from 90Min, Tottenham holds a strong admiration for Guehi but has turned their attention to other defenders due to the high asking price. Palace is reportedly seeking £60 million for Guehi, a sum that Spurs are currently unwilling to meet.

One potential candidate being considered by Tottenham as an alternative to Guehi is Edmond Tapsoba from Bayer Leverkusen. The defender is believed to be interested in a move to North London, although Liverpool and Manchester also have an eye on him.

As the transfer window progresses, Guehi will remain alert to potential developments. Liverpool is said to be keen on acquiring him, while Arsenal has also expressed admiration for the young talent.

Palace secured Guehi’s services from Chelsea for approximately £18 million, meaning a significant profit awaits them if a transfer materializes.
