Transfers: Chelsea can grant a Man City man his wish and need to act quickly

Chelsea would reportedly be able to give Manchester City attacker Gabriel Jesus his desired wish to play as a central striker next season, write the Chelsea Chronicle.

According to Football.London, the Blues are interested in Man City’s 25-year-old star this summer.

It is understood the Brazil international hopes to play as a centre-forward after being used all over the attack at the Etihad Stadium, something that Chelsea could give to him.

However, the report explains Thomas Tuchel’s side will need to step up talks and get some groundwork in soon if they’re serious about securing a deal for him this summer. Football.London points out there’s work to do despite beginning discussions with the player’s agent.

Jesus has shown his effectiveness operating as a winger at times for Man City with his pace, directness and high energy.

However, most viewed him as a central figure in attack when he arrived at the Etihad back in 2017.

The £90,000-a-week South American knows where the net is with 95 goals in 236 appearances for his club, so it’s no surprise to hear Chelsea may be prepared to take a chance on him as a central striker.

Pundit Stan Collymore has previously said he thinks Jesus could be a good fit at Stamford Bridge, too.

It’s previously been reported this summer Chelsea are chasing Jesus in a deal potentially worth £43million, but this week’s claim sounds like there’s still a lot more work that needs to be done.
