‘We control it’ – Dyche clears up Abdoulaye Doucoure’s contract situation

Sean Dyche has disclosed that the decision to extend Abdoulaye Doucoure’s contract lies with Everton, and he also thinks that Ellis Simms still has significant room for improvement, writes the LiverpoolEcho.

Earlier this year, Doucoure seemed likely to depart Goodison Park as he had received less playing time under Frank Lampard, featuring in just 12 games across all competitions. But after Dyche included him in the starting lineup for his debut against Arsenal in February, he has been a consistent presence in the team. Doucoure’s remarkable resurgence in form has been nothing short of impressive.

With Abdoulaye Doucoure’s contract set to expire this summer, Sean Dyche spoke about the midfielder in anticipation of their game against Tottenham Hotspur tonight. Dyche mentioned that Doucoure has an option to extend his contract at the end of the season.

He also expressed satisfaction with the players’ ability to adapt to the team’s objectives and tactics. Dyche has been pleased with the majority of his players’ performances and their contributions to achieving the team’s goals.

Dyche replied (on Abdoulaye Doucoure’s contract): “It’s the club’s option. We control it.”
