West Ham announce end-of-season retained list, as some ECL winners depart

West Ham has released their end-of-season retained list in preparation for the 2023/2024 Premier League season, which includes the departure of Manuel Lanzini as his contract comes to an end on June 30, reports the Daily Mail. The Argentine midfielder initially joined West Ham on loan from Al Jazira, a team from the United Arab Emirates, and made a permanent move to the club in 2016.

Over his eight seasons with the Hammers, Lanzini accumulated 226 appearances in various competitions, scoring 32 goals. He was also part of the squad that secured the Europa Conference League title. Despite being a regular starter in previous seasons, the midfielder has fallen out of favor under David Moyes and is no longer considered a part of the manager’s long-term plans.

Moyes expressed his gratitude and well wishes to Lanzini on behalf of the players and coaching staff, stating, “I would like to thank Manu and wish him all the very best for the future.”

In addition, West Ham has announced that they have proposed a new contract to Angelo Ogbonna, aiming to prolong his stay after eight years with the club. On the other hand, several individuals will be departing from London Stadium at the end of June, including development squad players Ademipo Odubeko, Armstrong Oko-Flex, Brian Kinnear, and scholar Asher Falase. Despite being offered a fresh contract, 19-year-old defender Jamal Baptiste is also expected to leave West Ham during the summer.
