West Ham have reportedly made an inital £17 million bid for La-Liga centre-back

Reports suggest that West Ham United has made a bid of €20 million (£17 million) for Real Betis center-back Luiz Felipe, relays the HammerNews.

According to El Chiringuito de Jugones, West Ham has identified Luiz Felipe as a priority transfer target and has taken concrete steps to secure his signature.

Manager David Moyes is actively seeking a new central defender in the summer transfer window due to the departure of Craig Dawson to Wolves in January and Angelo Ogbonna’s age of 35. Furthermore, Kurt Zouma has been grappling with recurring injury issues.

El Chiringuito de Jugones reports that West Ham has made a move to sign the Italy international, who was born in Brazil, from Betis.

If Betis accepts West Ham’s £17 million offer for the 26-year-old, it would be a valuable addition to the team. In the previous La Liga season, Felipe made 23 appearances for Betis, averaging 1.5 tackles, 1.2 interceptions, 4.3 clearances, and 1.3 successful aerial duels per game (according to Who Scored).

Additionally, he maintained an average of 38.1 passes per match, with an impressive completion rate of 85.5% (according to Who Scored). Luiz Felipe possesses strength in tackling and aerial ability, making him well-suited to succeed in the Premier League with West Ham.
