West Ham veteran says he wants to stay at West Ham beyond this season

West Ham United’s Angelo Ogbonna has expressed his desire to remain at the club beyond the current season. The defender’s contract is set to expire soon and there have been reports linking him to a move to Marseille in France.

However, after West Ham’s victory over Nottingham Forest, Ogbonna, who returned to the first-team line up after a season-ending injury, stated that he would like to extend his stay in east London because it feels like “family.”

Although the Hammers have yet to start negotiations for a new deal, manager David Moyes has confirmed that Ogbonna is one of four players whose contracts are expiring soon.

Among them, Ogbonna is the only one without an extension clause, unlike Lukasz Fabianski, Manuel Laninzi, and Vladimir Coufal.

As relays the football.london, Ogbonna said: “It feels like a family here and I want to be part of this family. Now the most important thing is to get our points and we can talk later.”

“We’ve not gone into the new contracts yet. It’s good to see Angelo back playing well… I’m pleased he’s done a really good job, he’s been a really good servant, but the truth is we’ve not got round to discussing any contracts at the moment.”
