Chelsea goalscorer Mason Mount thoroughly enjoyed celebrating his equaliser against Leeds United on Saturday.
The midfielder was on hand to fire home Marcos Alonso’s cross minutes before half-time at Stamford Bridge on Saturday after the Blues had initially fallen behind to Raphinha’s penalty.
The strike was vital to the hosts as it gave Thomas Tuchel’s men the perfect platform to turn the game around, with Jorginho then netting from his own spot-kick after the break.
Whilst the Chelsea squad will have certainly enjoyed Mount’s strike, it appeared that the academy graduate relished the goal more than most. After finding the net, he turned his attention to the travelling Leeds United supporters housed in the away end and put his fingers to his lips.
It is not the first time that the 22-year-old has chosen to silence Leeds fans.
During his loan spell with Derby County, Mount was part of the side that won 4-2 at Elland Road, securing them a place in the 2019 Championship play-off final.
Following Jack Marriott’s winning goal in the 85th minute, Mount again elected to silence the home crowd ahead of celebrating with the rest of the Rams side.
Mount’s latest strike marks another excellent chapter in both his Chelsea career and 2021/22 campaign.
The midfielder has now netted six goals in all competitions throughout the season, and has now been on the scoresheet in each of his last three Premier League games.
It will be hard to argue that any will have been more satisfying for Mount, though, than his equaliser against Leeds – his celebration telling just as much.
