Wout Weghorst caught on camera discussing Everton manager Sean Dyche, further fueling speculation about transfer

Wout Weghorst, the Burnley forward who has been linked with a move to Everton, was overheard discussing his thoughts on Blues manager Sean Dyche, relays the LiverpoolEcho.

The 30-year-old joined the Premier League in January 2022, signing for Burnley to strengthen their attacking options in their battle against relegation. However, despite a challenging first half-season at Turf Moor, Weghorst had subsequent loan spells with Besiktas and Manchester United, where he played a significant role in Erik Ten Hag’s pressing system. Following the conclusion of the Premier League season, Weghorst’s potential move to Goodison Park has been a subject of speculation.

In a video shared by the Netherlands national team, the forward can be heard talking about Dyche with his international teammates, leading to further rumors of a potential summer transfer to Everton.

Weghorst said: “He’s my old trainer from Burnley, though, [Sean] Dyche.”

Meanwhile, Everton is expected to bolster their attacking lineup to provide support for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has faced injuries over the past two years. Despite their struggles in the previous season, Everton secured another year of Premier League participation with the help of midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure’s crucial goals, including a spectacular strike against Bournemouth on the final day.
