During his podcast, ‘The Football Fill-In,’ Ben Foster expressed his anger towards David Moyes and West Ham after watching them play against Aston Villa without going on the attack, as relays the WHZ.
The Hammers managed to secure a 1-1 draw with Villa at the London Stadium on Sunday (12 March) and climbed out of the relegation zone solely based on goal difference.
However, during a period in the first half, goalkeeper Emi Martinez held onto the ball at his feet for two minutes without facing any pressure from the West Ham attackers, which infuriated Foster. He believes that this type of performance can result in a manager being sacked.
Foster said: “Obviously there’s a lot of unrest at West Ham at the minute and there’s a lot of talk about David Moyes and his future.”
“These are the little details which will get you sacked. When you listen to that, and Emi Martinez had the ball at his feet for two minutes in the first half, that will get you sacked. The fans are there, 60,000 of them turn up, and they’re watching their team just sit and stand there. Especially at home.”
“You’re not playing Man City, you’re not playing Man United or Arsenal. You’re playing against Aston Villa.”
